CINEMA CYCLE
(Cardio Workout And Reviewing Movies At The Same Time)
DATE VIEWED: 10/22/2015
TITLE: Great American Train Rides, Volume 2
FORMAT: VHS
TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 60 minutes
DISTANCE RIDDEN WHILE VIEWING: 14.2 miles
TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 3174.1 miles
SYNOPSIS: Seven video segments highlighting the features and scenery of some obscure railroad parks and rides in the western United States.
CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER: The concept of perspective regarding technology. These were once the golden symbol of man’s determination and conquering of the wilderness. Now they seem ‘steam-punk’ (literally) and the sheer weight and mechanical intricacy of these machines is astounding to see in action.
PROS AND CONS: If you like trains, you will like this video. If you are not into huge machines that make a lot of noise and belch fire then this probably isn’t for you.
After seeing this, I really want to seek out some of these places to see if they are still in operation. If they are, they are a national treasure.
