DATE VIEWED: 10/13/2015

TITLE: Rush

FORMAT: LaserDisc

TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 2 hours 2 minutes

DISTANCE RIDDEN WHILE VIEWING: 30.3 miles

TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 3094.5 miles

SYNOPSIS: Two undercover narcotics officers try and take down a local drug kingpin in rural 1970s Texas.

CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER:   Ah….life is tough and then you die?  Undercover narcotics officer is not a good career move?  Drug users are seedy people, what a surprise.  This ain’t Miami Vice.

PROS AND CONS: Not a terribly bad film, just not a very engaging one.  In my view, in order for a film to be engaging you have to identify with the characters in some way.  Such was not the case here.  These folks were on the fast track to nowhere and we get to sit and watch, oh joy.

It was interesting to observe the acting, since both of the main stars are well known (Jason Patric and Jennifer Jason-Leigh).  Yet, neither were very likable in their roles and I had the impression that they were both just sleepwalking through their some of the scenes.

The best thing about the film is its soundtrack, thanks to Eric Clapton and a concordium of classic Texas rock and roll / country.  Other than that.  I would pass on this one.
