SYNOPSIS: The circumstances leading up to and the botched investigation of the death of Kurt Cobain are documented.

CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER:   Some people live lives far removed from what regular people experience.  There is nothing worse than an apathetic and corrupt police department.

PROS AND CONS: I thought this would be an interesting subject based on the title and the music of Kurt Cobain and Nirvana.  However, just as a heads-up, there is no music in the film.

The film is a rare jewel, in that it is a very good documentary that even-handedly presents the evidence regarding Cobain’s death.  The counterpoint to the story (the rebuttal by Courtney Love) is non-existent for good reason.  The evidence presented against her is pretty overwhelming.

While Cobain’s cause of death is in question here, what really stood out was the documented incompetency of the Seattle Police Department (SPD), with interviews with retired officers on the case saying the investigation was extremely mishandled.  So much so, that the current SPD administration has suppressed information showing their incompetency, no doubt to ward off legal suits for this and other cases.

This film was viewed while exercising on my recumbent cycle.  A summary of my time spent working out on my journey through movie-land can be found on Strava.com.
