DATE VIEWED: 10/09/2015

TITLE: Vincent Van Gogh: A Portrait In Two Parts

FORMAT: LaserDisc

TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 1 hour 46 minutes

DISTANCE RIDDEN WHILE VIEWING: 28 miles

TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 3037.4 miles

SYNOPSIS: The life and times and ALL of the work of Vincent Van Gogh is chronicled by Leonard Nimoy.

CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER:  The world of the artist in a different time, and from a different perspective.

PROS AND CONS: A film that was done more to show off the capability of data storage and the ways in which media could be used at the dawn of the digital age.

This disk is very interesting from the LaserDisc perspective.  I doubt it is available in any other format due to its special features.  Side 1 has the narrative of Van Gogh’s life with Leonard Nimoy walking the streets and cafes that Vincent frequented, along with representations of all his work.

Side 2 is a one man stage play (starring Nimoy) of Vincent’s brother Theo recounting his death and his demons.
