Cinema Cycle - The Revolutionary War

Not what you expect. Imagine a Ken Burns PBS series done on a very very low budget. Basically a voice over of famous paintings and scenes from classical movies regarding the period. While rather dry and simplistic, it does give a good account of the war and just how sloppy and hap-hazard it was in the long run. The American's didn't so much 'win' the war as much as the British basically 'lost' the war.

Cinema Cycle - The Avengers '67 Vol 7

The series is getting on here and the producers decided to make it a bit more tongue and cheek. Every episode starts out with the classic line "Mrs. Peel, We're Needed", to the ending where John and Emma banter about the ramifications of the solved mystery.

Cinema Cycle - The Avengers '67 Vol 12

In these episodes, we get to see Mrs. Peel waterboarded, placed in a chastity belt, chased by a helicopter and go hand to hand combat with an entire town of thugs. Interestingly, the final episode here shows Mrs. Peel leaving the show with her long lost husband and the introduction of Steed's new (and last) partner Linda Thomson.

Cinema Cycle - The Avengers '67 Vol 10

This series reached it's stride in this season, in color, with the updated theme song, and obvious sexual tension between Steed and Peel. Of particular delight, if you are British Auto Enthusiast, is the second episode titled "Dead Man's Treasure" that is essentially a visual fest as Steed and gang motor across England in 1960s vintage British Sports Cars.
