He Saw / She Saw - Presidents / First Ladies

Sue:

I found side one of the disc that deals with the Presidents up through George Bush to be interesting. But man, side two was really informative. There were many interesting detailing about past First Ladies that I never knew.

Bruce:

A quick glosssing over of some tidbits about past presidents, focusing on the presidency after 1939, when media became available. There are some Easter eggs thrown in that will amuse the followers of politics. The disc ends in the Reagan era, which seems light years from today.

He Saw / She Saw - Murder On The Bayou

Bruce:

An interesting film that delves deeply into the past lives of poor African Americans in the deep south in the late 1970s. While long winded and preachy at times, it gives a good glimpse of a culture that is being erased and forgotten.

Sue:

Didn't much care for the film or its content. It was slow and plodding with a lot of dialogue that was hard to understand.

Cinema cycle - Halloween

Better than I expected. A competent film done on a low budget which shows you don't need a lot of money and special effects to engage the audience. While the ending got a bit silly, the overall mood and tone of the work shows what a craftsman John Carpenter is.
