TITLE: Her

FORMAT: BluRay

TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 2 hours 6 minutes

DISTANCE RIDDEN WHILE VIEWING: 30.1 miles

TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 2835.2 miles

SYNOPSIS: A divorced man in the near future develops a relationship with an artificial intelligence program.

CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER:  The difference between a physical relationship and an emotional relationship.  What is love and can we as a culture develop intelligence that is equal to our own?

PROS AND CONS: I didn’t know what to expect from this film, but assumed it would be interesting.  It was much better than I expected.

This is science fiction in the subtle sense.  It deals with the concept of how technology affects our lives and our perceptions.  I love films like this, especially when they are so spot on as this one.  The most unnerving thing about this film is how accurate it is and how it shows the viewer the future that is almost upon us.

While I am comfortable with technology, more so than most, not as much as others, I have seen this type of scenario developing through the use of Google Glass and other devices.  While the overall message is one of hope and moving forward, it does show that there can be a dark side with any major shift / advancement in society / technology.

This film was viewed while exercising on my recumbent cycle.  A summary of my time spent working out on my journey through movie-land can be found on Strava.com.
