(Cardio Workout And Reviewing Movies At The Same Time)
DATE REVIEWED: 05/15/2017
FORMAT: BluRay
TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 2 hours 17 minutes
DISTANCE RIDDEN WHILE VIEWING: 30.1 miles
TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 6688.4 miles
SYNOPSIS: A pair of human clones try to escape the artificial world they have been born into.
CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER: The concept of human creation and playing God, with a lot of explosions and chase scenes.
PROS AND CONS: A good movie on the social / ethical level regarding our evolution and the misuse of science. Alas, much of this is covered up by endless chase sequences and shoot outs.
The core plot of the film is the ongoing issue of when does science allow some to play God with what they have created and do they have an obligation to that creation, or is it just a product?
There was one key element of the film that was not flushed out or made clear. When Ewan McGregor (the clone) starts to have memories of his primary human, it is never pursued. There is obviously a reference to shared memories and shared consciousness between the clone and original human, but it is never delved into during the story line and is simply seen as a ‘defect’ in the product.
This film is a part of my LaserDisc Collection.
