DATE VIEWED: 11/03/2015

TITLE: The Matrix

FORMAT: HD-DVD

TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 2  hours 16 minutes

DISTANCE RIDDEN WHILE VIEWING: 33.3 miles

TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 3285.7 miles

SYNOPSIS: An every-man is thrust into an alternate reality and realizes that the world that he thought he knew was an illusion controlled by others.

CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER:   Conspiracy theories abound, for good reason.  A slick look at the world we may or may not already live in, depending on your perception and point of view.

PROS AND CONS: There is only one real negative about this film and it is more of a personal opinion.  The movie is a bit too slick and surreal for its own good.  The stunts and special effects are exceptional, but they almost overpower the story.

The story underlying the film is actually the best part.  It uses the concept of the Matrix as a metaphor for the society that we have created for ourselves and whether or not that society is serving us or are we serving it.

While Keanu Reeves’ “Neo” is the center focus of the story, he only works well because he has Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Ann Moss, Joe Pantoliano and Hugo Weaving to support him.  This really is an ensemble cast film and this cast just clicks.
