SYNOPSIS: The relationships of numerous individuals throughout time are interconnected by their actions and artifacts that they leave behind.
CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER: We are all connected, through time, space, and emotion. The big picture isn’t necessarily what we think it is.
PROS AND CONS: A great film. Probably on my top 10 list of all time. This ia film by the Wachowski brothers (actually brother and sister, now). The same folks that brought you the Matrix trilogy.
The scope of the film is epic and covers a lot of ground. The film almost ‘needs’ to be viewed more than once, since its initial viewing is a bit overwhelming and the plot(s) complex. On the second and subsequent viewing you can start to flush out the details that you may have / probably missed the first time through.
What you end up with is a film about hope and redemption and the struggle against those forces that tend to hinder us or hold us back (in this film, almost always portrayed by Hugo Weaving).
The film is a tour-de-force of acting and special effects. When six actors can portray 30 different characters and when special effects can make you believe in worlds that no longer exist or have never existed, you end up with a film that is well worth watching, more than once.
Clicking on the title will take you to the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) entry for this film.
This film was viewed while exercising on my recumbent cycle. A summary of my time spent working out on my journey through movie-land can be found on Strava.com.
