DATE VIEWED: 09/14/2015

FORMAT: Laserdisc

TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 1 hour 25 minutes

DISTANCE RIDDEN WHILE VIEWING: 17.3 miles

TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 2652.9 miles

SYNOPSIS: A pack of stray dogs fight over a young girl that can speak to animals, so they can cheat at horse racing.

CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER:  Supposedly, a heart of gold can overcome a life of crime.

PROS AND CONS: One of the features that I built into this whole project was the ability to have a random film come up to watch.  The focus of the project is to exercise and be more healthy, not to watch only the films that were wanted.

That is why I ended up watching this film.  A film I would have otherwise never put on the turntable and for good reason.  This is a bad film.  While the animation is well enough, everything else about the film just stinks.

In essence, this is an adult tale about gangs and crime and violence and death told with cartoons along with a cute young girl thrown in to hopefully hold the attention of the children in the audience.  But it does not work.

Any decent film has a ‘flow’ to it that sweeps you along.  It is a combination of empathy for the characters, good dialog, good acting, competent camerawork and direction.  This film has none of those elements and in fact, it is a bit on the disturbing side where viewing by children is concerned.

This film is a part of my LaserDisc Collection.

Clicking on the title will take you to the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) entry for this film.

This film was viewed while exercising on my recumbent cycle.  A summary of my time spent working out on my journey through movie-land can be found on Strava.com.
