DATE REVIEWED: 10/05/2017

FORMAT: Laserdisc

TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 1 hour 58 minutes

DISTANCE RIDDEN WHILE VIEWING: 29.5 miles

TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 7616.5 miles

SYNOPSIS: The camaraderie, tribalism and corporate greed of 1970s football is dramatized.

CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER: Before professional sports became all politically correct and lawyered up.

PROS AND CONS:  Wasn’t expecting a lot on this viewing.  This was somewhat of a controversial film when it first came out, because it painted the American Hero, the football player, as a reckless party animal similar to pack of wild dogs.

This is one of the films that opens that window into the 1970s that many younger viewers will find odd.  The look, the hair, the dress, the mannerisms all scream the disco era.

I have no doubt that Pro Football was like this back in the day.  Must have been some heady times indeed, before the internet and tabloid news.
