FORMAT: Laserdisc
TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 1 hour 59 minutes

TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 7191.3 miles
SYNOPSIS: The relationship of a brilliant actor with dementia and his assistant are chronicled during a performance of King Lear.
CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER: The relationships that we form, that often times are dysfunctional yet also necessary.
PROS AND CONS: This is a good film. It is an actors film, where 90% of the action takes place in the form of dialog between Albert Finney and Tom Courtney.
The film can get a bit long in sections where Finney has several of his mad / breakdown scenes. However, his performance along with that of Courtney is astounding.
An interesting aspect of the film is that it takes you backstage at a theater performance in 1940s England, and the things that they had to do in order to put on a performance are amazing.
This film is a part of my LaserDisc Collection.
