(Cardio Workout And Reviewing Movies At The Same Time)
DATE REVIEWED: 04/10/2017
FORMAT: Laserdisc
TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 1 hour 33 minutes
DISTANCE RIDDEN WHILE VIEWING: 19.9 miles
TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 6538.8 miles
SYNOPSIS: An eccentric navy officer is tasked with infiltrating a naval base with an antiquated WWII submarine.
CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER: The classic rehashed naval comedy farce where military rules and etiquette are thrown out the window.
PROS AND CONS: Not as bad a film as I had supposed when I was given this to watch. The production value of the work is actually quite high and it is entertaining to watch.
But, since I am stickler for reality, while the film looks good, it is a farce and fantasy regarding the ways that the actual military work.
While it is fun to see Rip Torn and Bruce Dern go at it as competing admirals, Rob Schneider's turn as the XO of the submarine got to be a little hard to take.
