DATE VIEWED: 12/23/2015

FORMAT: LaserDisc

TIME RIDDEN / FILM LENGTH: 2 hours 15 minutes

DISTANCE RIDDEN WHILE VIEWING: 28.1 miles

TOTAL CINEMA MILES LOGGED: 3744.7 miles

SYNOPSIS: A Russian submarine commander attempts to defect to the west along with his new super secret stealth submarine.

CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER:   High drama in the upper echelons of the government and military.  High seas drama in the genre of “Ice Station Zebra”.

PROS AND CONS: There are some things I can nit-pick about this film, but very few.  Some of the military protocol and stock footage is a bit off or out of date.

But that really does not matter in this film.  The basics; the cinematography, the acting, the score, the script are all better than average.  This film has exceptional pacing, so that the viewer never gets bored watching a scene and never wonders what the heck is going on.  You strap this film and enjoy the ride.
