SYNOPSIS: A murder triangle haunts the lives of a southern belle spinster and her niece.
CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER: Really good film making. Very entertaining and intriguing, so much so that the viewer really has no idea what is going on until the last 20 minutes of the film.
PROS AND CONS: This is one of those sleeper films in my collection that was much better than I expected. Back in the day, Hollywood made films that relied on technical skill and acting in front of a camera, not created on a computer graphics system.
This film is a tour-de-force for Bette Davis, who does her best over-the-top crazy and yet is still rock solid believable in her role. The supporting cast, including Olivia Dehavilland and Joseph Cotten are also stellar.
If the film didn’t stand on it’s own merit, the back story behind the film and it’s production are almost as entertaining.

SYNOPSIS: An interstellar Loan Ranger, patrols the galaxy doing good, with the help of twin brother and sister and their pet monkey. (I can’t make this up)
CONCEPT IN RELATION TO THE VIEWER: Strange creatures bad, good space people kill bad creatures.
PROS AND CONS: I watched this as a kid and thought it was really cool. I watched it 40 years later as an adult and I am somewhat horrified and embarrassed.
I had to remind myself, that this was Saturday morning television fair, 30 minutes with three 7 minute stories. So you have to pretty much sum up an entire independent story between the commercials.
Those seven minutes usually left enough time to find danger, confront danger, and defeat danger. There wasn’t ever negotiations or empathy for the defeated. They got what they deserved. Chilling and empirical when viewed with today's mindset.
